Sustainability in Focus: BATT-BRIDGE Seminar

On 9 July 2026, over 50 experts from academia, industry, research, and public bodies joined the event organised by RENOVATE EU in collaboration with 5 sister EU-funded projects ReUse, CIRCUBATT, Revitalise, HighMag, and STREAMS!

The webinar provided an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and perspectives on one of the key challenges facing the battery recycling sector: how to effectively assess and demonstrate the sustainability of innovative recycling technologies.

Alok Prasad discussed ReUse's sustainability assessment and evaluated recycling routes. The programme included presentations on assessment methods for new recycling tech, validation across projects, and topics like data access, confidentiality, LCA scaling, pathway comparability, and choosing functional units and boundaries. It ended with an engaging Q&A.

A big thank you to all the organisers, co-organisers, speakers, moderators, and participants who contributed to making this such a valuable and engaging event. The strong cross-project collaboration and open exchange demonstrated once again the importance of working together to advance sustainable and circular battery technologies in Europe.
