Sustainability in Focus: Webinar Co-organised by ReUse
The ReUse project will take part in the upcoming Batt-Bridge webinar, Sustainability in Focus: Assessing recycling processes for a circular battery value chain, taking place on 9 July 2026 in a fully online format.
The event brings together several sister Horizon Europe projects working on battery recycling and circularity, including RENOVATE, CIRCUBATT, REVITALISE, STREAMS, HighMag, and ReUse. The webinar is organised to strengthen methodological alignment and promote discussion on how sustainability assessments can support the development of next-generation recycling technologies.
ReUse will be represented by Alok Prasad (University of Bordeaux), who will present the project’s perspective on sustainability assessment in battery recycling and contribute to discussions on methodological consistency across different recycling routes.
The programme is structured around two main thematic sessions:
Sustainability assessment approaches for innovative recycling technologies
Validation of these approaches across projects
Key discussion topics include data availability, scaling challenges in life cycle assessment, comparability of recycling pathways, and the selection of functional units and system boundaries. The webinar will therefore conclude with a joint discussion and Q&A session, providing participants with an opportunity to exchange views on improving the robustness and comparability of sustainability assessments in the rapidly evolving battery sector.
